Computer Hardware & Software | Sega has confirmed it will be porting Japan's Yakuza: Of the End game to western markets under a new handle, Yakuza: Dead Souls. The title will be released as a PS3 exclusive and contain the full game, DLC, and a bonus slot machine game called Pachislot.

“We know how much people love Yakuza in the West and with Dead Souls being the latest and greatest in the franchise, it is only right we bring it to them closer to the Japanese release than ever,” said Gary Knight, Sega's senior VP of marketing in today's announcement.

Yakuza Of the End (soon to be Dead Souls) was originally released in Japan this June as a zombified spin-off of the Yakuza series of crime games. The title takes place amidst a zombie outbreak in Japan's seedy Kabukicho district, and is the first game in the Yakuza franchise to feature gunplay as a primary means of combat. Playable characters include Yakuza series' main man Kazuma Kiryu, Shimano liutenant Goro Majima, Yakuza 2's Ryuji Goda, and hostess club owner Shun Akiyama.

Yakuka: Dead Souls will land on North American and European shores in March 2012.
